What To Do
The Alexandra House is set amid 20 acres of grounds just to the north of the M4 and near to the major Wiltshire town of Swindon. It is within easy reach of Bristol to the west and the nation’s capital London to the east which are 30 minute and 60 minute train journeys respectively. There are several things to do in nearby Swindon and in the surrounding towns, cities and countryside which are convenient to the hotel.
Firstly, guests to the Alexandra House can make the most of their proximity to Swindon Designer Shopping Outlet and indeed the town’s other shops and places to eat out. The Designer Outlet is set in the town centre near to the main train station, while the McArthur Glen shopping centre offers another option and brings together some 110 shops under the roof of the old Great Western railway station.
Visitors can travel a little further afield to reach some top regional attractions meanwhile. To the south, in the Wiltshire countryside near Salisbury, is the famous Stonehenge which draws in many passersby and visitors each year as they come to investigate for themselves this intriguing arrangement. The town of Salisbury itself is worth a visit thanks primarily to its impressive cathedral and its traditional setting.
Bristol is not too far from Swindon and is a top south-west attraction offering plenty to do for all sorts of people. There are sights in the form of Clifton Suspension Bridge for example as well as fun for the family in the shape of @Bristol and the upmarket Cabot Circus shopping centre. Just outside the city is Longleat Safari Park and House which offers a great day out for families and is well worth a visit during a stay in this part of the world.
